The New Appaloosa — Buckskin

A warm blonde/carmel hue

Our product team continues to sculpt beautiful finishes that align with today’s interior design trends. That’s why we’re excited to announce the addition of Buckskin to the exclusive Appaloosa family. With the curated, rustic character we love, Buckskin Appaloosa offers a warm blonde/caramel hue that we’re seeing more of in interior home decor. Available on maple, rustic maple, cherry and knotty alder.

Appaloosa Evolves To Peppered

Renamed to Peppered Appaloosa

With the introduction of Buckskin, the original gray Appaloosa required a new name. Appaloosa is now Peppered Appaloosa. The finish maintains the exact same appearance you are accustomed to, only the name has changed. Available on maple, rustic maple, cherry and knotty alder.

Our Brightest White Yet — Sea Salt

A cool and refreshing white

White paints have maintained a popular stronghold in the kitchen, yet with the influence of modern design, the trend is growing towards a brighter, lighter white. As it’s name implies, Sea Salt brings a cool, refreshing spray of brightness to your design.

The Grays Have It

Meet Macciato, Frappe and Earl Grey

Neutrals are having such a strong impact on interior color schemes, we’re bringing three exciting new classic gray paints to the color palette.

It’s All In The Details

New Finishes

A Rich, Sultry Stain— Smoke

A neutral, charcoal undertone

While much excitement has shifted towards painted finishes, today’s customers have a desire for change in the stained finishes of their homes. From flooring to cabinetry; undertones of orange/brown stains are giving way to neutral, charcoal undertones. Smoke is a rich translucent charcoal finish that allows the grain and tone of the wood to show through. Add further dimension to Smoke with Ebony Glaze and Highlight. Antique and Legacy Distressing available on designated door styles and species.Available on: Maple, Cherry, Knotty Alder, Rustic Maple, Hickory, Oak and Quartersawn Oak

New Door Styles

Shaker Evolved Lockheart

An elegant twist on Traditional Shaker

Consumer feedback from a 2017 Houzz study shows modern design trends continue to gain market appeal. That means we are right on track with the addition of the Lockheart door style. Lockheart blends a wide shaker frame with a refined center panel profile molding for a distinct Euro-inspired look. With a wide stile and rail and subtle interior bead, the Lockheart door is beautiful in any interior.Available on: Cherry, Hickory, Maple, Oak

Sleek and Linear - Catania

A New Metal door style

As Modern style continues to shape the landscape of design, we seek out opportunities to refine and shape our offering — leading to the addition of the Catania metal door style. Unique to Catania is the minimal outside band of the frame which continues behind the decorative glass — creating a dramatic layered effect. Avaliable in three metal finishes: Matte Aluminum, Brushed Stainless Steel, Oil Rubbed Bronze and four decorative glass options: Clear, Reeded Vertical, Reeded Horizontal and Frosted.

Traditional Style—

Transom Mullion

Based on historical architecture of doors and windows, this transom mullion adds a glass accent while maintaining the single, full-height door of upper sections of wall and tall cabinets.

Princeton, Sugar Creek, Boardwalk and New Haven door styles

Macchiato, Frappe and Earl Grey can be further enriched with the addition of Ebony Highlight. New Collection Catagories for Finishes

Warm Wood Collections

For a simplified approach, we’ve taken our beautful and diverse color palette and divided it into two categories: Warm Woods (this page) and Captivating Color (the next page). The separate groups are designed to streamline the conversation between you and your customer based on the categorical theme.

Stain

Transparent stains accent the natural beauty and distinctive grain of the cabinets. Our stains are protected by an oven-cured top coat that provides a superior seal.

Glaze and Highlight

Glaze is sprayed over base stain, then handrubbed to create a patina enhancing both color and character. Additional hand-brushed detailing creates definition for the impression of aged furniture.

Antique Distressing Collection

Antique Distressing is a finish created by lightly distressing wood for a subtle worn appearance. Characteristics include sanded corners and profiles of doors and drawer fronts, as well as small dings and dents.

Legacy Distressing Collection

Legacy Distressing is a finish created by physically distressing the wood for an aged appearance. Characteristics include sanded corners and profiles, small dings and dents, rasping, worm holes, chisel marks and knife splits. In addition, a glazed brush spatter is applied.

Appaloosa Collection

Appaloosa includes two semi-transparent warm stains, Legacy Distressing and dark glaze hang-up. In addition, spray spatter and brushed glaze accents are added to enhance the depth of the finish.

Captivating Color Collections

Schuler’s Captivating Color collections go from soft, subtle neutrals to the bright and bold. Use color to create a soothing retreat or a stunning design statement for your customers. All of our painted finishes provide 100% coverage and opacity.

Classic Paint

A lustrous enamel paint which provides solid coverage and a smooth satin finish.

Paint and Highlight

A hand-brushed highlight is applied to detailed areas of the door. This enhances door profile without changing the overall base color of the classic paint.

Paint with Glaze and Highlight

Accent glaze is sprayed over enamel paint then hand-wiped to create a patina. Hand-brushed highlights are applied to detailed profiles of the door. The result is a patina painted finish similar to that seen in time-worn furniture.

Paint with Glaze and Highlight and Heirloom Distressing

Designed to mimic heirloom furniture, this finish starts with paint and is layered by an overall accent glaze and hand-brushed door profile highlights. The final finish includes wear-through sanding and random distressing.

Sheer Colors

Color washed semi-transparent stain. Slight visibility to the wood character and tone are common, and are especially noticeable on distinctive wood grains, like oak and lighter colors, like Cottage White Sheer.

Sheer Colors with Dry Brush

Random, hand applied, dry-brushed accents add character and depth to the base coat of color washed semi-transparent stain. Slight visibility to the wood character and tone are common, and are especially noticeable distinctive wood grains, like oak and lighter colors, like Cottage White Sheer.
